Neanderthals and Homo sapiens coexisted. They weren't very different; one was stronger, the other more social. Only one evolutionary line has remained. We asked ourselves questions. We were able to "tame" Nature, we specialized, we lived longer. We expanded, we colonized the whole world and changed it. Now it seems that it's too small for us.
However, just recently we were monkeys who had risen above the norm.
Evolution: very little genetic difference, yet radically different. Small details shape our course.
