These are the final lines of the book "The History of Earth is Our Time." Time is relative; it takes millions of years to form mountains, but in just a few thousand years, humankind has completely changed the face of the Earth.
We came down from the trees, stood on two legs, developed grasping hands, and little by little our brain became more complex. We developed self-awareness and asked questions. We were able to "tame" Nature, we specialized, we lived longer. We expanded, we colonized the whole world and changed it. Now it seems that it's too small for us. However, just recently we were monkeys who had risen above the norm.
Everything filtered through a dream and built on a wall marked by graffiti and the passage of time, in a big city.
We, who are Nature but have become something else.
