"Lucentum" is a commission for the Alicante restaurant Ñas-Coca.
The work is an abstraction inspired by the origins of the city of Alicante. Lucentum, a small Roman city overlooking the sea and surrounded by mountains, where its inhabitants live from fishing, agriculture, and maritime trade.
The work is a map-like view, where the sea occupies the central space around which strokes, textures and stains develop that may remind us of a port, boats, orchards, houses, salt flats...
Vibrant colors, dripping effects, and graffiti can also transport us to the present day, to contemporary life in constant flux...
