This work was created over several weeks using leftover construction materials and the dried acrylic paint scraps that are periodically torn from the mixing bowls. These paint remnants serve as a record of the color palette of the paintings created in recent months.
The different layers of the work are like cut and cracked skins that overlap. Fragments of time. Records of work. Like a city wall where posters, graffiti, and markings appear, are torn down, are covered up, but always leave traces. The passage of time in the city. The passage of time.
The mirror sphere incorporates the viewer into the work itself and shows us as observers of History.
Like the monolith in 2001, someone comes to see us every so often to see if we are ready to follow them. But it is ourselves.
