The work focuses on an idea that pervades many of the artist's paintings: the individual adrift, manipulated by events from which they cannot escape, conditioned by circumstances, sometimes simply a number. Yet they rebel against this and devise a plan; they want to be the pilot of their own life, sometimes feeling that there isn't so much uncertainty after all.
